Railway stations

Railway station pickups, met at the platform exit the train actually uses

A Vande Bharat that arrives eleven minutes early and a Rajdhani that arrives two hours late are the same problem: a car that was timed to the timetable. The desk watches the live running status, and the chauffeur waits at the exit of the platform the train is announced for.

How a station pickup works

Train number, coach number, platform exit

  • At booking Give us the train number and, if you have it, the coach. The fare is priced from the station to your address.
  • On the day Dispatch follows the National Train Enquiry System running status. A late train holds the chauffeur; an early one brings them forward.
  • At the station The chauffeur waits at the exit of the announced platform, or at the paid-parking pickup point the station uses, with a name board. Porters are arranged at the big terminals where you want one.
  • Waiting Thirty minutes after the train's actual arrival are inside the fare; the rest is charged in fifteen-minute steps.
  • At the kerb Station parking and entry charges are inside the fare. There is nothing to add.

Train or car

When the expressway beats the Vande Bharat

Delhi to Agra is under two hours by the Gatimaan or Vande Bharat and about three by car on the Yamuna Expressway; the car wins if there are three of you, the Taj is the only stop and you want to leave when the light is right rather than when the timetable says. Mumbai to Pune is the same arithmetic on the expressway. For longer legs, Delhi to Varanasi or Chennai to Bengaluru, the train or the flight wins and the car meets it at the far end. The city-to-city page lists the fixed fares.
