Chennai International Airport at Meenambakkam is about 16 km down the GST Road from Anna Salai and Nungambakkam, and the new Terminal 2 has separated international from domestic. The chauffeur runs the GST Road into the city, the Inner Ring Road to Guindy, or the OMR south to the technology corridor.

Chennai International Airport to the city
International passengers clear customs in the new Terminal 2 and meet the chauffeur beside the arrivals exit; domestic passengers arrive at T1 or T4 next door, and because there is no secure link between terminals the chauffeur confirms which one the airline is using that week. The GST Road runs straight to Guindy, about 8 km and 20 minutes, and on to Anna Salai and Nungambakkam, about 16 km and 40 to 60 minutes. The Kathipara junction at Guindy feeds the Inner Ring Road towards Adyar and the OMR.

Where a day in Chennai actually goes
Chennai's business geography has three legs: the older corporate houses and banks around Anna Salai, Nungambakkam and RK Salai; the technology corridor along the Old Mahabalipuram Road from Taramani through Sholinganallur to Siruseri; and the automotive belt at Sriperumbudur and Oragadam, about 40 to 50 km west by the Bengaluru highway, where the car and component plants sit. A day-hire for a manufacturing visitor is usually a hotel-to-Oragadam return with a plant-to-plant loop in between; for a technology visitor it is an OMR loop with a lunch stop at Sholinganallur. Medical-travel runs go to Apollo Greams Road, MIOT in Manapakkam and Fortis Malar in Adyar.

Day trips, festivals and occasions from Chennai
The East Coast Road makes Mahabalipuram a half-day trip and Puducherry a comfortable overnight; Kanchipuram is the silk-buying run, and Tirupati temple visits start before dawn. The Margazhi season in December and January fills the Mylapore sabhas every evening and the chauffeur handles the short hops between them. Film-industry bookings run to the studios at Vadapalani and Kodambakkam. Rail passengers are met at Chennai Central (MAS) for trains from the north and Bengaluru, and at Egmore (MS) for services from southern Tamil Nadu.
