Outstation chauffeur from Bengaluru: intercity journeys and multi-day charters
From Bengaluru the outstation roads run south-west to Mysuru and the Coorg coffee hills, north to the Hampi ruins, and a short hop north to Nandi Hills. The Bengaluru-Mysuru Expressway has changed the first of these; the ghat roads into Coorg still demand a chauffeur who drives them often.

Outstation in Bengaluru
Mysuru is the day trip that the expressway made easy: Karnataka Tourism puts it at about 149 km via NH275, two to three hours by road, and the chauffeur leaves the city early enough for Mysuru Palace before lunch and Srirangapatna on the way back. Coorg is the next step, about 260 km and five to six hours by the route Karnataka Tourism describes, Bengaluru to Mysuru to Kushalnagar to Madikeri, with the climb from Kushalnagar into hills that sit between 900 and 1,750 metres; the state page itself advises careful driving in the hilly sections, which is why we send chauffeurs who know the road. Nandi Hills is a sunrise run of about an hour from the northern hotels.
The routes we drive from Bengaluru
Hampi is the long one, about 340 km and six to seven hours by road, so it is booked as a two-night charter with the chauffeur staying at Hosapete, about 13 km from the ruins, and driving the site loop each day. A three- or four-day Mysuru and Coorg circuit is the most common multi-day charter from Bengaluru: night one in Mysuru, two nights on a coffee estate, and the return by the same expressway. All of these stay inside Karnataka, so there is no state entry tax; the only extras are the expressway and highway tolls, which the chauffeur FASTag pays and the invoice lists line by line.
Permits, halts and the multi-day charter
Two habits make these runs comfortable. Leave before seven: the expressway is fast, but the city exit through Kengeri is not, and an early start puts you in Mysuru with the morning free. And treat the Coorg hills as a different kind of road: the chauffeur slows on the estate lanes and the ghat bends, and the monsoon months from June to September add time on the wet sections. Before a multi-day charter leaves, the coordinator confirms the kilometres per day, the chauffeur night halts and the return date in writing; a detour decided on the road is agreed the same way and the fare stays where it was quoted.

Questions
Outstation in Bengaluru: frequently asked
How long is Bengaluru to Mysuru now?
Karnataka Tourism gives about 149 km via NH275 and two to three hours by road on the expressway. Leaving the city early, the chauffeur has you at Mysuru Palace by mid-morning with Srirangapatna as the stop on the way back, all as a single day return.
Is Coorg a day trip?
No. At about 260 km and five to six hours each way through Mysuru, Kushalnagar and the climb to Madikeri, Coorg is a two- or three-night charter. The chauffeur stays near your estate and drives the plantation and waterfall loops each day.
What does a Hampi charter look like?
Two nights, with the chauffeur based at Hosapete about 13 km from the ruins. The drive is about 340 km and six to seven hours each way, so day one is the journey, day two the site, and day three the return; the daily site loop is on the same booking.
Are there border taxes on Karnataka routes?
Mysuru, Coorg, Hampi and Nandi Hills are all inside Karnataka, so no state entry tax arises; the expressway and highway tolls go on the chauffeur FASTag and show on the invoice at cost. Cross into Tamil Nadu or Kerala and the border post levies that state tax, which the chauffeur settles.
