Outstation chauffeur from Bhubaneswar: intercity journeys and multi-day charters
From Bhubaneswar the outstation roads run south to Puri, Konark and Chilika, north on NH16 to Kolkata, south-west on NH16 to Berhampur, Gopalpur and Visakhapatnam, and inland to the steel and mining towns. The Puri-Konark day is the classic; the coastal and interior runs are charters with the same chauffeur throughout.

Outstation in Bhubaneswar
Puri is about 60 km and around 90 minutes on the four-lane Puri road; Konark is about 65 km from the city, and the Puri-Konark Marine Drive of about 36 km links the two along the coast, so a single day covers the Jagannath Temple in the morning, a beach lunch and the Sun Temple in the afternoon light. Chilika Lake at Satapada is about 100 km for the dolphin boats and is a long day on its own. Cuttack is 30 km by NH16. Kolkata is about 440 km north on NH16, six to eight hours; Visakhapatnam is roughly the same distance south by NH16 through Berhampur and Srikakulam, also a full day, with Gopalpur beach about 170 km as the halfway stop.
The routes we drive from Bhubaneswar
NH16 is tolled at several plazas between Bhubaneswar and either state border, and the chauffeur's FASTag pays them. Odisha has replaced its physical border check gates with an online e-checkpost, so cars from other states pay their border tax before entry; our Odisha-registered cars leaving for West Bengal or Andhra Pradesh carry an all-India tourist permit and the chauffeur settles any state levy at the border, all itemised on the invoice. The Puri road and the Marine Drive are flat and straightforward at any hour; the interior roads to Rourkela and Sambalpur are single-carriageway for long stretches and are driven by day. In the monsoon the coastal roads can flood briefly and the chauffeur allows for it.
Permits, halts and the multi-day charter
Multi-day charters take in the coast and the temples: a two-day Puri, Konark and Chilika circuit with a night in Puri, or a three-day run down to Gopalpur and back. Industrial charters go to the steel plant at Rourkela and the Sambalpur and Angul belts, each a long day inland, and to Paradip port. Rath Yatra in June or July closes Puri's Grand Road to vehicles for the festival days and every hotel fills, so cars are booked weeks ahead and the chauffeur drops at the police parking zones on the edge of town. The same chauffeur stays with the car for the whole charter, overnights near the passenger's hotel and keeps the vehicle fuelled and washed for each morning.

Questions
Outstation in Bhubaneswar: frequently asked
Can we do Puri and Konark in one day from Bhubaneswar?
Yes. Leave by 07:00, reach Puri in about 90 minutes for the temple and the beachfront, take the Marine Drive of about 36 km to Konark after lunch, and return the 65 km to Bhubaneswar by evening. The chauffeur waits at the temple car parks, since cars cannot enter the Grand Road.
How long is Bhubaneswar to Kolkata by road?
About 440 km on NH16, six to eight hours depending on the Kharagpur and Kolaghat stretches and the Kolkata approach. It is booked as a one-way transfer or a return charter, and many passengers prefer an early start with a breakfast stop at Balasore on the way.
Do you run Bhubaneswar to Visakhapatnam?
Yes. Visakhapatnam is about 440 km south by NH16 through Berhampur and Srikakulam, a full day of driving; Gopalpur beach at about 170 km makes a natural halfway break. The Andhra Pradesh border formalities on the car are handled by the chauffeur and shown at cost.
What happens during Rath Yatra?
For the festival days in June or July the Grand Road and its approach roads in Puri are closed to vehicles and the police designate parking zones on the edge of town, so the chauffeur drops you at the nearest zone and you walk in. Hotels and cars for that week are booked well ahead.
