Puri is about 60 km and Konark about 65 km, each around 90 minutes, on the four-lane Puri road out of the city.
Practical notes for BBI
There are no toll plazas between the airport and the city; the NH16 toll applies only towards Cuttack and beyond. Night arrivals are simple because the roads are quiet, and the Jaydev Vihar hotels are 15 minutes at that hour. Rath Yatra week in June or July and the Konark and Ekamra festival dates in December and January fill the hotels, so airport cars for those weeks are booked ahead. Luggage is confirmed at booking; pilgrim groups with extra bags get an MPV. For departures the chauffeur drops at the departures kerb of the correct hall and stays until the passenger is through the door; 90 minutes before a domestic flight is enough from the Nayapalli hotels.
