The Surat Diamond Bourse and the exhibition and convention centre stand together at DREAM City beside the Khajod junction on NH53, a short run from Magdalla, and the Hazira industrial belt, where the steel, petrochemical and LNG plants and the port sit, is about 25 km west along the coast on the road that becomes NH53 (the old NH6), which the district administration notes starts at Hazira and runs east to Nagpur and Kolkata. NH48, the old NH8 corridor to Mumbai and Ahmedabad, passes the eastern edge of the city, so a passenger heading straight for Bharuch, Vadodara or Vapi never enters the centre.

Surat is in a dry state, and the terminal and hotel bars follow the Gujarat rules, so the evening runs are mostly airport and station returns rather than late dinners. Tolls on NH48 and parking at the terminal are paid by the chauffeur and itemised.
