The airport is on the Pithampur side of the city, which matters for industrial visitors: the automotive and pharmaceutical estate at Pithampur, in Dhar district and listed by the district administration as a large industrial area with its own auto cluster, is about 30 km west on the Dhar road and 45 to 60 minutes from the terminal, so a plant visit can start straight from the flight and the hotel check-in can wait until evening. Dewas Naka and the Sanwer Road estate are on the far side of the city, about 40 minutes. Ujjain's Mahakaleshwar temple is 53 km from the airport by the Ujjain district administration's figure, and the chauffeur runs it as a direct transfer for pilgrims.
