Luggage from the Gulf is heavy and an MPV is sent when the booking says so.

The Airport Road joins NH544 at Athani and then the Aluva and Edappally corridor: Marine Drive and the MG Road hotels are about 30 km and 45 to 75 minutes, the Kochi Marriott at Lulu in Edappally is on the way in, the Grand Hyatt on Bolgatty Island is about 30 km by the Goshree bridges, and Fort Kochi, Brunton Boatyard and Forte Kochi are about 35 km and up to 90 minutes in the evening. Infopark and SmartCity at Kakkanad are reached by the Seaport-Airport Road, avoiding Edappally, and the refinery at Ambalamugal is on the same eastern side. Aluva station is about 10 km from the airport for passengers who arrive by train and fly out. Thrissur is 72 km north by NH544.
Practical notes for COK
There is no toll on the airport corridor; NH66 and NH544 plazas apply only on outstation runs. Departures need more margin than the distance suggests: allow two hours to the terminal from Fort Kochi and 90 minutes from Marine Drive for a domestic flight, three hours for international, because the Edappally junction and the Aluva stretch clog from late afternoon. Night arrivals are met normally and the corridor is quick after 22:00. Onam in August or September and the Biennale months from December to April fill the city, and Thrissur Pooram in April or May draws cars north for the day. Ayurveda guests are driven from the terminal to the Cherai and Kumarakom resorts with the chauffeur handling the resort's pick-up point.
