Surat Airport to the city
Surat has one terminal, and the chauffeur waits at the arrivals exit; the pick-up lane is directly outside. The Dumas Road runs north-east into Vesu and Piplod within minutes, and the Athwa Lines hotels (Surat Marriott, The Grand Bhagwati) are about 10 km and 20 to 30 minutes; the Courtyard by Marriott is about 7 km. Surat railway station and the Ring Road textile markets are about 12 km and 30 to 40 minutes through the old-city traffic. Hazira and the port-side plants are about 25 km west along the coast.

Surat's three working districts are distinct: the diamond cutting and trading businesses in Varachha and Mahidharpura and the new Surat Diamond Bourse at Khajod; the textile markets on the Ring Road and the mills and process houses at Sachin and Pandesara; and the heavy industry at Hazira, where the steel, petrochemical and LNG plants and the port sit. A day-hire for a buyer usually pairs an Athwa Lines hotel with a Varachha or Bourse morning and a Ring Road market afternoon; for an engineering visitor it is a Hazira return with the car held at the plant gate. Gujarat is a dry state and the hotel belt is quiet after dinner, so evening bookings are mostly airport and station returns.
