Vadodara's terminal has a single arrivals hall, and the chauffeur waits at the exit with a name board; the building opened in October 2016 with immigration and customs counters, but the scheduled flights are domestic (IndiGo and Air India), so the run is short and predictable. Welcomhotel by ITC Hotels on R C Dutt Road in Alkapuri is about 7 km, Vivanta Vadodara at Akota Gardens about 9 km and 15 to 20 minutes, and the Grand Mercure Surya Palace and Sayaji in Sayajigunj are a 10-minute drive from the airport and 1.5 to 2 km from the station. Hyatt Place at Nilamber Circle on the Vasna-Gotri road, opened in December 2021, sits in the newer residential belt on the west side.

Where a day in Vadodara actually goes
Vadodara is an engineering city. The Makarpura GIDC estate inside the city is the older base for the engineering and electrical plants, Savli GIDC at Manjusar spreads over 800 hectares beside the national highway north of the city, and the Halol estate, 45 to 50 km out and now part of the Halol-Savli Special Investment Region, holds the automobile, wind-turbine and pharmaceutical plants. The corporate and bank offices are in Alkapuri around R C Dutt Road, and the chauffeur's standard day-hire is an Alkapuri or Sayajigunj hotel to a Savli or Halol plant gate, with the car held for the return; Waghodia, about 28 km from the station, is the other estate on the circuit. Ahmedabad, about 112 km up the highway, is a same-day return for a second meeting.

The Statue of Unity at Kevadia is the run that fills the weekend book: about 90 km, an 80 to 90 minute drive, booked as a day return. Champaner-Pavagadh Archaeological Park, the UNESCO site inscribed in 2004, is about 50 km away with the Kalika Mata temple ropeway on Pavagadh hill, and Laxmi Vilas Palace and Sayaji Baug make a half-day inside the city. Rail passengers are met at Vadodara Junction (BRC) on the Mumbai-Delhi Western Railway main line, where the Mumbai-Ahmedabad Shatabdi and Vande Bharat services stop.
