Bhubaneswar's single terminal has one arrivals exit where the chauffeur waits with a name board; the pick-up bay is a short walk across the forecourt. The Master Canteen area and the railway station are about 5 km and 15 minutes; the Trident and Mayfair Lagoon at Jaydev Vihar about 9 km and 20 to 25 minutes; Infocity and the Patia campuses about 15 km and 30 to 40 minutes by the Jaydev Vihar and Nandankanan roads. The Mancheswar industrial estate is about 12 km, and Cuttack about 30 km by NH16.

Where a day in Bhubaneswar actually goes
Bhubaneswar is the administrative capital and Cuttack the commercial one, and a working day often touches both: the Odisha secretariat and the department offices in the Unit areas around Master Canteen, the corporate branches and hotels along Jaydev Vihar and Nayapalli, the technology and back-office campuses at Infocity and Chandrasekharpur, and the trading houses and the High Court in Cuttack. Mining and steel companies with plants in the interior keep their liaison offices here, so a day-hire is often a secretariat morning and an Infocity or Cuttack afternoon. Medical-travel runs go to AIIMS Bhubaneswar at Sijua, KIMS at Patia and Apollo at Sainik School Road.

The Puri and Konark road is the reason most visitors come: the Jagannath Temple at Puri is about 60 km, the Konark Sun Temple about 65 km, and the Marine Drive between them makes the two a single day with a beach lunch; the chauffeur waits at the temple parking since the car cannot enter the Grand Road. Chilika Lake at Satapada is the dolphin-boat trip, and Dhauli and the Udayagiri caves are half-days from the city. Rath Yatra in June or July closes Puri for a week and is booked months ahead. Rail passengers are met at Bhubaneswar station (BBS) beside Master Canteen, at the newer Bhubaneswar New (BBSN) at Barang, and at Puri (PURI) for the pilgrim trains.
