Kumbhalgarh Fort is about 85 km north and Ranakpur's Jain temples about 90 km, on hill roads through the Aravallis, and the two combine into one long day of about 200 km with the temples in the early afternoon. Chittorgarh Fort is about 115 km east on the Chittorgarh road and pairs with the airport. Mount Abu is about 165 km by NH27 through Pindwara and then the climb from Abu Road, three and a half to four and a half hours. Jodhpur is about 250 km by NH162 through Pali, around four hours; Ahmedabad about 260 km south by NH48, about four and a half hours; Jaipur about 400 km by NH48 through Chittorgarh and Bhilwara, six to seven hours.
The routes we drive from Udaipur
NH48, NH27 and NH162 are tolled and paid by the chauffeur's FASTag. Crossing into Gujarat for Ahmedabad, the chauffeur handles any state levy on a tourist-permit car at the border and it appears at cost on the invoice; Gujarat is a dry state and the car carries no alcohol across. Rajasthan's own per-seat special road tax applies to cars from other states, not to our Rajasthan-registered fleet. The Kumbhalgarh and Ranakpur roads and the Mount Abu climb are ghat sections with bends and wildlife, driven in daylight; the monsoon makes them slippery and the chauffeur slows accordingly. Night driving is fine on NH48 and NH162, but we schedule the hill roads for the morning.
Permits, halts and the multi-day charter
Multi-day charters link Udaipur to Jodhpur through Ranakpur and Kumbhalgarh, a two-day heritage transfer with a night in the hills, and on to Jaisalmer for a five- or six-day desert circuit; Mount Abu is a two-night charter with the Dilwara temples and the Nakki Lake circuit; Ahmedabad is a one-way transfer that suits passengers flying out of Gujarat. Nathdwara's Shrinathji temple to the north and Eklingji are pilgrim half-days. The chauffeur stays with the car throughout, overnights near your hotel and keeps the vehicle ready for the next morning; fuel, tolls, permits and the chauffeur's expenses are all inside the quoted charter, and a change of plan mid-trip is priced before it is driven.

Can Kumbhalgarh and Ranakpur be done in one day?
Yes. Kumbhalgarh is about 85 km and Ranakpur about 90 km from Udaipur, on hill roads, and a dawn start covers the fort in the morning and the temples after that, back by evening. The chauffeur sets the order so you reach the temples during their visitor hours and the fort before the heat.
How long is Udaipur to Jodhpur by road?
About 250 km by NH162 through Pali, around four hours direct; the heritage version via Ranakpur and Kumbhalgarh is longer and is usually split over two days. It is booked as a one-way transfer with the chauffeur returning empty or continuing with you to Jaisalmer.
Do you drive to Ahmedabad?
Yes. Ahmedabad is about 260 km south by NH48, about four and a half hours, and is a common one-way transfer for passengers flying from there. Any Gujarat border levy on the car is settled by the chauffeur and shown at cost; note that Gujarat is a dry state.
Is Mount Abu a day trip from Udaipur?
It can be, at about 165 km each way by NH27 and the Abu Road climb, but the hill road and the Dilwara temples deserve an overnight; most passengers book two nights with the car held at the hotel for the Nakki Lake and sunset-point runs.
