Why Chennai is a black-car city
Chennai International handles international flights through the new integrated Terminal 2 and domestic flights through T1 and T4, and because there is no airside link between them, a passenger who is met at the wrong terminal walks. From the airport, Guindy and the Mount Road corridor, with the ITC Grand Chola and the Park Hyatt, are ten to twenty minutes up the GST Road; Nungambakkam and Anna Salai, with the Taj Coromandel and the Taj Connemara, about 16 km and thirty to forty-five minutes; Adyar and the Leela Palace on the river thirty to forty-five minutes; the OMR to Siruseri forty-five minutes to an hour and a half depending on how far down it goes; Sriperumbudur and Oragadam about 40 km west and an hour; Ambattur and Porur forty-five minutes north-west.
