Agra Fort follows mid-morning, Itmad-ud-Daulah across the river after lunch, and Mehtab Bagh on the far bank for the sunset view of the Taj. Akbar's tomb at Sikandra on the Delhi road fits a second morning. The chauffeur books the timed-entry tickets on the ASI portal with you and knows which gate's queue is shorter that day.

How the hours work
Full-moon night viewing runs on five nights a month, the full-moon night and two either side, in half-hour batches from 20:00 to 23:59, with visitors reporting at Shilpgram half an hour before their slot, and it is closed on Fridays and through Ramzan; the hourly car waits at Shilpgram through the batch. Taj Mahotsav at Shilpgram in February is a ten-day evening booking. Hours are counted whole from the first pick-up, with a minimum block, the kilometre allowance covers the city and Sikandra, and parking at Shilpgram, the Fort and the hotels is paid by the chauffeur and shown at cost. Wheelchairs are carried on request for the Fort and the river gardens.

What time should a Taj Mahal visit start?
The monument opens thirty minutes before sunrise, so for the quietest hour and the best light we leave the hotel in the dark, park at Shilpgram and take the battery bus to the East Gate. It closes thirty minutes before sunset and all day on Friday, which sets the order of the rest of the day.
How does night viewing work?
On the full-moon night and two nights either side, except Fridays and during Ramzan, the ASI runs eight half-hour batches from 20:00 to 23:59 with tickets booked in advance; you report at Shilpgram thirty minutes before your slot. The chauffeur waits at Shilpgram and drives you back afterwards.
Can the car wait at the inlay workshops and leather units?
Yes. The pietra dura workshops around Tajganj and the footwear units at Sikandra and Foundry Nagar are the usual buyer's stops, and the car holds at each for as long as you need, then carries samples back to the hotel or on to Delhi under the same hire.
Is Mehtab Bagh worth adding?
Yes. Mehtab Bagh sits on the far bank of the Yamuna opposite the Taj and is the sunset viewpoint; it is a short drive across the river from Itmad-ud-Daulah, and the chauffeur times the arrival so you are in the garden for the last light and back at the hotel for dinner.
