Two meanings
The everyday limo and the occasion limo
Most limo bookings in India never involve a stretched vehicle. When a hotel concierge in Mumbai says the limo is downstairs, it is a Mercedes-Benz S-Class or E-Class with a chauffeur in a dark suit; when an airline's first-class desk arranges a limo, it is the same. This is the limo service RUTZ.IN dispatches every day in 32 cities: luxury and executive sedans, luxury SUVs and the Mercedes-Benz V-Class and Toyota Vellfire vans, at fixed fares from the rates page, for airport transfers, hourly hire, day packages and intercity journeys.
The occasion limo is the other thing. A stretched Lincoln or Chrysler, a vintage Rolls-Royce or a restored 1950s Cadillac, booked for a wedding entrance, a film premiere, a product launch or a birthday, with decoration, a red carpet and a chauffeur who knows how to stage an arrival. These vehicles are rare in India, concentrated in Delhi, Mumbai, Bengaluru and Hyderabad, road-legal only under specific permits, and they are quoted per event rather than by the hour. The desk sources them through its network, confirms the paperwork and prices the day, including the decoration, which runs from $200 to $1,000 depending on the brief.
Both are booked through the same desk, to the same standard: a vetted chauffeur, a commercially permitted vehicle, a fixed price and a written confirmation. What changes is the lead time, which is a day for a sedan and several weeks for a stretch in wedding season.

Occasions
What Indian limo bookings are for
Weddings account for the largest share of occasion-limo requests. The bride's car to the venue and the couple's car away from it are the two bookings, and the desk plans them around the baraat procession, the venue's porte-cochere and the photographer's brief; the wedding page covers the guest fleet, the decoration options and the palace-hotel logistics in Udaipur, Jaipur and Jodhpur. A luxury sedan or an SUV does the job most often; a vintage car does it for the photographs.
Airports are the second. A limo booked to meet a flight is an S-Class or an E-Class at the arrivals exit with a name board, the flight tracked and an hour of waiting included; the airport chauffeur page describes the procedure at each terminal. Hourly limo hire covers the evening out, the shopping day, the temple visit and the site inspection; a day package covers a city tour with a chauffeur who knows which gate of the Red Fort opens first. Events and productions book several limos on one call sheet, and the desk supplies a coordinator for the day.
Then there is the plain intercity journey: Delhi to Jaipur in an S-Class rather than a train, Mumbai to Pune down the expressway, Bengaluru to Mysuru for the palace. The city-to-city page prices those as fixed fares, and a charter day covers anything longer.
Pricing
How a limo is priced in India
Everyday limo bookings are priced from the published rate cards, per vehicle class, before payment. On the international card a luxury sedan airport transfer is $2,600, an hourly booking $300 with a four-hour minimum, an eight-hour day $2,200 and a ten-hour, 300 km charter day $2,700; the executive sedan runs at roughly a third of those figures, and the SUV, MPV and van classes sit between. The international card bills the same services in US dollars: $350 for the S-Class airport transfer, $300 an hour, $2,200 for the day. GST is added to every figure; tolls, parking and state entry taxes are itemised at cost.
Occasion limos are quoted per event because the variables are different: the vehicle, the city, the date, the hours the car is needed for the ceremony against the hours it stands decorated in a hotel forecourt, the decoration itself, and any second chauffeur or escort vehicle. The desk sends the quote in writing with a deposit that follows the schedule on the cancellation policy page: free more than 72 hours before the first date, then stepped inside 72, 48 and 24 hours.

- Deposit A deposit holds the vehicle; the balance is due as quoted, by card, UPI or bank transfer.
- Site check For a wedding or premiere the desk checks the approach road, the turning circle and the porte-cochere height before the day, because a stretched vehicle does not fit everywhere.
- The day The chauffeur arrives early, the car is staged where the photographer wants it, and the desk's coordinator is on the phone throughout.

Stretch and vintage limousines are concentrated where the events are: Delhi NCR and Jaipur for the wedding circuit, Mumbai for film and fashion, Bengaluru and Hyderabad for corporate launches and the studio calendar, Goa for destination weddings in the season. Elsewhere, the desk will say honestly whether a stretch can be brought in and what the positioning costs.
Beyond India, a limo booked in any of the 56 countries of the Limousine Association International network is arranged through the same desk with one confirmation, which matters for a wedding party arriving from London or a delegation continuing to Singapore.
Standard
The chauffeur, the paperwork and the etiquette
A limo chauffeur is held to the same standard as every RUTZ.IN chauffeur, and then a little more: commercial licence and state badge, police verification and a background check, uniform, English and the local language, and training in the choreography of an occasion, which door opens first, where the train of a lehenga goes, how long to hold the car at the photographer's mark. The vehicle carries a commercial permit and insurance; a stretch or vintage car carries the specific permit that makes it legal on that city's roads, and the desk confirms it before quoting rather than after.
No gratuity is expected on any booking. Water and phone chargers are in the car. For an occasion, the chauffeur is briefed on the run sheet, the names and the timings the evening before, and the coordinator holds a second vehicle on standby for the entrance that cannot be late.
