How Mumbai shapes a chauffeur booking
Mumbai runs north to south along a peninsula, and its traffic runs with it. The airport at Santacruz and Sahar sits in the middle; the old business district of Nariman Point, Fort and Ballard Estate is at the southern tip, twenty-five kilometres away; Bandra Kurla Complex, the newer financial district, is a few kilometres south of the airport; Lower Parel and Worli hold the mills turned into towers between them; Andheri East, SEEPZ and Powai spread north and east of the airport. A chauffeur's choices are the Western Express Highway, the Sea Link from Bandra to Worli, and the Coastal Road that now carries the Sea Link's traffic on down to Marine Drive, and the right one changes by the hour.
Since December 2025 the city has had two airports: Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International, with T2 for international and full-service domestic flights and T1 at Santacruz for the low-cost carriers, and Navi Mumbai International, a separate field about 35 km to the south-east across the Atal Setu bridge. The calendar matters too: the Tata Mumbai Marathon closes the southern roads on a January Sunday, the Kala Ghoda Arts Festival fills Fort in February, Lakme Fashion Week brings the fashion crowd in March and October, and Ganesh Chaturthi in August or September brings processions and closures across the city for ten days, during which a chauffeur who knows the pandal routes is worth more than the car. Beyond the city
Pune, Lonavala, Alibaug and Nashik
The Mumbai-Pune Expressway is the outstation journey Mumbai books most: about 150 km and three hours to Pune's Koregaon Park or Hinjewadi, with Lonavala and Khandala at the halfway point about 85 km out, where the hill station's hotels fill on winter weekends. The Atal Setu bridge across the harbour has made Alibaug's beach villas a 95 km drive rather than a ferry, and Nashik's vineyards are about 170 km north-east for a wine-country day. Each is priced as a fixed intercity fare on the city-to-city page or as a ten-hour, 300 km charter day at $1,700 in an executive sedan on the international card, with the expressway tolls at cost and the chauffeur's lodging inside the rate for an overnight.

The standard
Who drives, and what the fare buys
Every chauffeur on the Mumbai roster holds a commercial licence and a Maharashtra transport badge, has cleared police verification and a background check, wears a uniform and speaks English, Hindi and Marathi. The vehicles carry commercial permits and insurance, are serviced on schedule and presented clean, and the registration is on the confirmation for checking against the Parivahan records. The fare is fixed per vehicle class before payment, GST is added, and the Sea Link, Coastal Road, Atal Setu and expressway tolls are itemised at cost against receipts. No gratuity is expected. The chauffeur's name, number and registration arrive the day before, and the desk tracks every flight into both airports.
Two things decide a Mumbai day before the car moves. The first is the airport: Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj at Sahar and Navi Mumbai International on the mainland side of the harbour are on opposite sides of a very congested city, and the desk checks the code against the flight number rather than assuming. The second is the departure hour, because outbound traffic towards the Expressway is heavy from about half past eight until eleven, and a nine o'clock start loses most of an hour to it. Every itinerary is written to leave before or after that window.
