Delhi airport chauffeur service: met at T3, T1 or T2, tracked through the fog, fixed to the door
Indira Gandhi International is India's busiest airport and its most complicated to be collected from: three terminals, two of them domestic, a winter fog season and a road into the city that changes character by the hour. The terminals
T3, T1 and T2: which one your flight uses and where the chauffeur waits
Terminal 3 handles every international flight into Delhi and most of Air India's domestic services; it is the terminal with the long immigration halls, the Airport Express metro station beneath it and Aerocity next door. Terminal 1, on the far side of the airfield, handles IndiGo, SpiceJet and Air India Express domestic flights and is a separate drive of about ten minutes from T3. Terminal 2, between them, reopened in October 2025 after refurbishment and handles part of Air India's domestic schedule. The desk checks the terminal against the flight number when the booking is made and again the day before, because airlines move services between T1 and T2, and the chauffeur is sent to the terminal the airline is actually using.
At each terminal the chauffeur waits at the arrivals exit beyond customs with a name board, in the zone the airport allows for private chauffeurs, and the confirmation names that meeting point and gives the chauffeur's number. The car is either in the pick-up lane for the short halt the airport permits or in the multi-level car park a few minutes' walk away, and the chauffeur takes the trolley either way. The wait
Immigration, baggage, customs and the hour that is inside the fare
The sixty minutes of waiting inside every airport fare are counted from the moment the aircraft lands, not from the booked time, and at T3 that matters. The Bureau of Immigration desks can clear a passenger in ten minutes or in an hour depending on the bank of flights that arrived together; baggage from a wide-body aircraft takes time; the customs green channel is quick and the red channel is not. The chauffeur waits through all of it, and a passenger delayed inside the terminal is never treated as a no-show: the desk calls and messages before anything is assumed. Waiting beyond the hour, once the passenger has cleared the hall and asked the car to stand, is charged in fifteen-minute steps at the class's extra-hour rate.
Late-night arrivals are the norm at T3, with a large share of international flights landing between midnight and 4 am; the airport is fully staffed, the roads are quiet and a night allowance of $50 for journeys between 10 pm and 6 am is shown on the fare before payment. Indian SIM cards are sold in the arrivals hall against a passport and visa, but the chauffeur's number on the confirmation works on WhatsApp over the terminal's wireless, so a passenger without a local SIM can still reach the car.
The fog
December and January at IGI, and why every flight is tracked
Delhi's winter fog is the single biggest variable in an airport booking. From mid-December to late January, dense fog on some mornings cuts visibility on the runways to the point where only aircraft and crews equipped for low-visibility operations can land, and flights are delayed, diverted or cancelled in the early hours. RUTZ.IN tracks every flight from departure, and the pickup moves with the aircraft: a chauffeur is not sent to stand at T3 for a flight holding over Jaipur, and a passenger who lands three hours late finds the car there with the free hour untouched. A flight cancelled by the airline moves the booking to the new flight without charge.
Departures in the fog season are timed by the coordinator on the airline's advice and the road that morning, and the pickup message carries a margin that accounts for both. The desk watches the India Meteorological Department's forecasts for the airport through the season and tells regular passengers when a morning looks bad.

The fare is fixed by vehicle class whatever the road does, but the desk quotes the time honestly, because that is what a passenger plans around.
Aerocity
Ten minutes from T3: the JW Marriott, the Roseate, the Andaz and their neighbours, the conference hotels and the first stop for a late arrival.
Connaught Place and Lutyens
About 16 km and thirty to fifty minutes by NH48 and Sardar Patel Marg to the Imperial, the Taj Mansingh Road, the Oberoi and the offices of the centre.
Chanakyapuri
Twenty-five minutes to the Leela Palace, the ITC Maurya, the missions and the residences of the diplomatic enclave.
Gurugram
Thirty minutes to an hour down NH48 to Cyber City, Udyog Vihar and Golf Course Road; the Dwarka Expressway serves the western sectors. The Delhi NCR page covers the region.

The vehicles
Which car to book from Delhi airport
The executive sedan, a Mercedes-Benz E-Class or BMW 5 Series, is the standard airport car for one or two passengers with two large bags, at $220 on the international card. The luxury sedan, the S-Class or 7 Series, is $350 for a principal or a first-class arrival, and the Delhi S-Class page covers it. The luxury SUV, a Fortuner, Land Cruiser or GLS, carries up to five with four bags at $280 and is the right car for a family or a journey on to the hills. The premium MPV, an Innova Hycross or Kia Carnival, carries six with five bags at $250 and is the value choice for a group. GST is added to every figure; tolls and parking are at cost; there is no separate meet-and-greet charge and no gratuity is expected. Booking
How to book a Delhi airport chauffeur
Enter the airport, the flight number, the destination address, the date and the vehicle class on the booking page; the fixed fare and any night allowance show before payment by card or UPI, the confirmation arrives by email and WhatsApp, and the chauffeur's name, number and registration follow the day before with the meeting point for the terminal. Return transfers are booked as two legs. Companies book through their account coordinator and receive a monthly statement with GST on each line; the Delhi corporate page explains the account. Cancellation is free more than 72 hours before the pickup, then stepped inside 72, 48 and 24 hours; a flight cancelled by the airline moves the booking without charge. A booking a few hours before landing is usually possible, but the terminal check, the name board and the tracked flight are all easier with a day's notice, and a first visit is worth mentioning so the chauffeur is briefed to take more time at the exit.
