Golden Triangle tour packages: Delhi, Agra and Jaipur, one car and one chauffeur the whole way
The Golden Triangle is three cities and about 740 kilometres of good road, and it is the one Indian circuit that is genuinely better driven than flown. RUTZ.IN runs it as a private chauffeured tour in four, five or six days: the same car and the same chauffeur from the first pickup to the last drop, the transport priced from our published charter-day rate with no tour mark-up, and the hotels and entries quoted separately so you can see exactly what you are paying for.

The circuit
Why the Golden Triangle is a driving tour, not a flying one
Three cities sit at the corners: Delhi in the north, Agra about 233 km south-east down the Yamuna Expressway, and Jaipur about 240 km west of Agra, with roughly 270 km of highway closing the triangle back to Delhi. Every leg is a three-to-five hour drive on a road built for it, and the flights between them are so short that the airport time swallows the saving. Driven, the legs become part of the trip rather than an interruption of it: you leave a hotel when you choose, stop at Fatehpur Sikri or a roadside dhaba because it is there, and arrive with your luggage already in the boot.
What makes it work is the car being yours for the duration. A tour that re-assigns a vehicle at every city hands you a new driver who does not know that you wanted the Taj at sunrise, or that one of your party gets carsick on the Bharatpur bends. One car and one chauffeur for the whole circuit is the difference between a package and a private trip, and it is how we run every version below.
The circuit is also the most forgiving introduction to India there is. The roads are the country's best, the three cities carry its most recognisable monuments, and the distances are short enough that a family with small children or a traveller with a mobility limit can do it comfortably. The visitor page covers how the desk plans a first visit, and the city-to-city page prices each individual leg if you would rather build the route yourself.
The three corners
What each city gives you
The three cities are not interchangeable, and the number of days you pick decides which of them gets the short end.
Delhi — the layered capital
Two cities in one: the Mughal old city of Jama Masjid, Red Fort and Chandni Chowk, and the imperial avenues of Rashtrapati Bhavan and India Gate, with Qutub Minar and Humayun's Tomb bracketing a thousand years between them. A full day does it justice; a half day gets you the headlines. The Delhi chauffeur page covers the city in detail.
Agra — the one monument everyone came for
The Taj Mahal at sunrise, Agra Fort across the river, and Itimad-ud-Daulah for the marble inlay that the Taj made famous. Agra is a half-day city with one unmissable hour in it, which is why most itineraries sleep elsewhere and arrive early.
Jaipur — the working royal city
Amber Fort on its ridge, the City Palace and Jantar Mantar inside the walls, Hawa Mahal from the street, and bazaars that are still bazaars. Jaipur rewards the extra day more than either of the others. The Jaipur chauffeur page has the city's geography.
Which length
Four days, five or six: what actually changes
The four-day version is the circuit at its tightest: one day in each city and the driving folded into the mornings and evenings. It suits a long weekend, a stopover on a longer trip, or a traveller who has seen Delhi before. What you give up is Fatehpur Sikri and any unhurried time in Jaipur.
The five-day version is the one most people should book. It adds a proper Delhi day at the front and puts Fatehpur Sikri on the Agra-to-Jaipur leg, where it belongs geographically, so nothing is rushed and nothing is skipped. It is the version the desk quotes unless you ask otherwise.
The six-day version slows everything down: a second night in Jaipur so Amber can be done in the morning light rather than the afternoon crowd, time for Abhaneri's stepwell on the road, and an Agra morning that does not start at five. It is the version for families with children, for travellers who dislike a packed schedule, and for anyone who wants to shop in Jaipur rather than glance at it.
How it runs
What a chauffeur-driven circuit looks like from the back seat
The chauffeur meets your flight at Delhi airport with a name board, and from that moment the car is parked wherever you are. It waits at the Taj gate while you walk in, it carries the shopping from Jaipur's bazaars, and it holds the cold water and the phone chargers. You are not booking a seat on anything; you are booking a vehicle and the person who drives it, for a fixed number of days.
The day's shape is yours. The run sheet the coordinator prepares is a plan, not a timetable, and a morning that turns into a long breakfast simply moves the afternoon. What the chauffeur holds firm is the two or three things that cannot move: the Taj closes on Fridays, Amber's light is best before eleven, and a Jaipur-to-Delhi leg started after four in the afternoon arrives in the worst of the traffic.
Each circuit below is priced on our published charter day — ten hours and 300 kilometres — because that is the shape of an intercity touring day. The rates page carries the full card, and the charter builder will price a circuit of any length live if none of the three below is quite right.
When to go
The season, and what it does to the circuit
October to March is the season, and for good reason: the north Indian winter is dry and clear, and the monuments are at their best. December and January bring morning fog to the Yamuna Expressway, which is a real planning constraint rather than a note — the desk shifts a Delhi-to-Agra departure later on a fog morning rather than driving into it, and builds the buffer into the run sheet. February and March are the sweet spot: warm days, no fog, and the Jaipur Literature Festival in late January filling the city if you want it.
April to June is hot, genuinely so, with Agra and Jaipur regularly above forty degrees by midday. The circuit still works if the sightseeing is moved to the early morning and the late afternoon and the middle of the day is spent in the car or the hotel, which is exactly how the desk schedules it. July to September is the monsoon: the roads stay open and the forts look better wet than dry, but an afternoon can be lost to rain. Rates do not change by season on our card — a charter day in June costs what it costs in December.
Two closures matter enough to plan around: the Taj Mahal is shut every Friday, and it opens for night viewing only on a handful of nights around the full moon. The events page carries the dates that fill the hotels, and the desk checks both against your dates before confirming an itinerary.
Booking
How to book a Golden Triangle package
Pick the length below and the vehicle class, and the transport half of the package can be booked and paid direct on the booking page — the fare is fixed before payment and the chauffeur's name, licence number and vehicle registration reach you the day before the first pickup. For the all-inclusive version, send your dates and the hotel category you want through the contact page and the desk returns a written, itemised quote within one working day.
Overseas travellers are billed on the international card in dollars, and the same desk arranges the airport meet on arrival, the flights and stays around the circuit through the travel desk, and the onward car in 56 countries through the Limousine Association International affiliate network. Cancellation is free more than 72 hours before the first pickup, then stepped inside 72, 48 and 24 hours on the schedule published on the cancellation policy page.

Questions
The Golden Triangle: frequently asked
How many days do you need for the Golden Triangle?
Five is the comfortable minimum for a first visit: a full Delhi day, an Agra morning with Fatehpur Sikri on the way out, and two nights in Jaipur. Four days works if you have seen Delhi before, and six turns it from a schedule into a holiday.
Is it better to drive the Golden Triangle or fly between the cities?
Drive it. The legs are 233 to 270 km on good highways, three to five hours each, and the flights are so short that check-in and transfers cancel the saving. Driving also keeps your luggage, your car and your chauffeur with you the whole way.
Does the same chauffeur stay with us for the whole circuit?
Yes, and the same car. The chauffeur's own meals and accommodation on every outstation night are inside the rate, so there is no re-assignment at a city boundary and no tipping expectation built into the price.
What is not included in the transport package?
Hotels, meals, monument entry fees, licensed guides, and air or rail tickets into the circuit. Tolls, parking and state entry taxes are charged at cost against receipts. The all-inclusive tier bundles the stays and entries and is quoted on request.
Which way round should the circuit run?
Delhi to Agra to Jaipur and back to Delhi is the usual direction, because it puts Fatehpur Sikri on the Agra-to-Jaipur leg and leaves the shortest drive for the last day. The desk will reverse it if your flights make Jaipur the better start.
Can the Golden Triangle be extended beyond the three cities?
Routinely. Ranthambore for tigers, Udaipur and Jodhpur for the rest of Rajasthan, Varanasi by air from Delhi, or Rishikesh and Haridwar to the north. The charter builder prices any of those as extra days on the same car.
